Loving this song from the GG soundtrack, which Honey gave me. Sad indie country pop. Reminds me of My Morning Jacket – my favorite tear-inducing album in college.

An appropriate day for sentimental music. A little kitschy, a little old school, and just a very good song.
Was listening to the song when I was playing mah jong with my family this weekend, with my grandma explaining the meaning behind the lyrics. Unlike the James Dean + Annie Hall couple as portrayed in the video, the song is actually about the singer’s career. She has sacrificed and been through so much to make it. She realized it was all worth it when she heard the applause from the audience.
It melts my black little heart.
